Meetings will be held on Friday evenings from 7pm - 9.30pm and Sunday afternoons from 2pm - 5pm.

Save these dates for your diary:

Fri 3rd Feb                                  Sun 19th Feb
Fri 2nd Mar                                 Sun 18th Mar
Fri 6th April                                Sun 22nd April
Fri 4th May                                 Sun 20th May

The meetings will be a combination of Show and Tell, Fabric Swaps, Block Exchanges and Stitch and Bitch - the structure of meetings will evolve according to the needs and demands of the group meetings.

Well it's a rainy day here in Coffs - perfect for some quilting! I plan to finish off the Sherbert Pips Broken Dishes quilt that has been lying dormant since the Brayside fair. I have the fabric needed to add some borders, then it should be ready to baste and quilt. A great project for a rainy day!

Our first registration session

We had a lovely day yesterday at Brayside Preschool's Spring Fair. Thanks to everyone who popped in to say hello and to ask questions and register their interest. It was so nice to meet some of you and to hear other people are as excited about this as we are :).

We had some of our quilts on display as well -

Coin quilt
Crosses, Sherbet Pips, Ikea Orange

Bottled Rainbows and Crosses

I love the bottled rainbows quilt...it is on my 'project list'. Rachel from Stitched in Color has a great tutorial on her blog and you can find it here -

We had a great day and were lucky enough that the thunderstorms held off until after the fair had finished. As well as chatting with fellow crafters, I was also manning the Cafe for most of the day. Baking is another one of my passions. I just have to share with you these lovely Butterscotch Madelines that we had for sale -

Five of our Favourites

Just about one of my favourite things to do at the end of the day is sit down with a cuppa and chill out with some awesome quilting inspiration via my google reader. Seriously, what did we do before blogs? There is so much amazing, inspirational eye candy and inspiration out there!

Here are five of our favourite modern quilting blogs:

Red Pepper Quilts:
Rita at http://www.redpepperquilts.com/ is one insanely talented Aussie quilter. With an incredible eye for colour and pattern mixing, you can't go past the fresh, fun designs she showcases in her blog. And there are plenty of great tutorials on her site too.

Fresh Lemons Modern Quilts

Faith at http://www.freshlemonsquilts.com/ is based in Chicago and is another quilter whose use of colour and pattern always makes me smile. One of the bloggers who bought us the Summer Sampler Series, http://www.freshlemonsquilts.com/?page_id=1105, Faith's blog is one well worth following.

Freshly Pieced
Another of the Summer Sampler Series gals, Lee from http://freshlypieced.blogspot.com/
, based in Wisconsin, offers gorgeous quilts, great tutorial and is the owner of the WIP Wednesday series. She creates some seriously cute stuff.

Crazy Mom Quilts
Amanda Jean from http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/ is taking a little blogging break at the moment, but I still think this blog is worth a mention. A long time quilter, I lost interest in quilting for some time a while back, and I credit this blog with helping me find my muse again. I love her use of fresh, fun fabrics and her eye for colour and design, plus there are lots of great tutorials and quilt alongs on this blog.

Generation Q Magazine
The team at http://generationqmagazine.com/ offer a modern quilting news magazine in blog format. With tons of interviews, latest fabric reviews and recaps of quilting news, like the Houston Markets, this is the place to find the latest quilting info.

Of course, there are endless blogs out there, and we'll be bringing you more of our favourites in the future. If you're looking for blog inspiration, visit these blogs and then blog hop from their favourite sites. And we'd love to hear your favourites in our comments section.
